Rowing Clubs
 
In 1870 the first ditch of resistance moved along, departing from Tigre and taking as a point of arrival the Passengers' Dock of Bs's Port Seize (Today Port Madero). The voyage lasted two hours and fifty minutes. The First Ditch in the Rio Luján (Tigre) moved along on December 8, 1873 and there was present the President of the Republic, Domingo Faustino Sarmiento. Six days later, the rowers participants met in the coffee "Gymnasium" placed in Florida St and Corrientes St  and there founded the Buenos Aires Rowing Club, dean of the nautical and synonymous sport of the national oar.
To this one they followed the Club of Ditches The Marina in 1876, the Tigre Boat Club in 1888 and on the following year the Teutonia. In the subsequent years there were formed groups, which according to his collectivity were designating the Club.
On September 21, 1893 there was founded the Union of Ditches of the River Plate (URRP) entity that it organizes the same year, the first official ditch, being the point of game of the diffusion and official organization of the oar of competition in the Argentina. But due to the notable summit that this one deports it  experimented, in 1901 the URRP, it decides to be dissolved to happen to be in 1902, the Commission of the International Ditch of Tigre (CRIT) and to create and give step to the Union of Fond Rowers of the River Plate (current Association Argentina of Fond Rowers), that takes charge of the direction of the oar in our country. While the CRIT takes charge organizing and controlling the Official Ditches.
With to run of the time, the ditches promoted by this one entity were growing and prestige was gained  with the participation of local crews and of other countries. In 1924 eight it qualified in the Olympic Games. In 1936, in Berlin, the third position was obtained by a double. The great victory was met in 1952, in the Olympic Games of Helsinki, by Capozzo and Guerrero. In 1970, Alberto Demiddi gains  the golden medal of the world championship of oar realized in Canada, after having intervened brilliantly in several Pan-American and Olympian games, possessing 171 gained national and international competitions, from 1961 to 1973. Another glory of the Argentine oar is constituted by him Ricardo Ibarra, three times Pan-American champion.
Tigre, it is called by his path in this sport and by his fourteen clubs of oar " The Cradle of the Remo Argentino ".
